Bought this for my mom. Thought it was perfect for her so she would know what calories she burns throughout the day because I read a review that said that you could. I read the manual front to back and saw nothing about that. I even started playing around with it but got nowhere.. She uses it now and then but I just feel like I wasted my money.

I have had this watch for a couple of weeks to monitor my heart rate during the day. It works quite well for this. I see it advertised for use during exercising but I would not recommend it for that. you need to wear it and use one hand on it for several seconds which is not how I would have available during a workout. I use a watch with a chest monitor during workouts.

This watch works great for quick check. Nice and light.

I think Timex got this one backwards; the emphasis in the window is on the time and not the heart rate. The heart rate numbers are tiny and very very difficult to read and the numbers for the time are easy to read. I do predawn walks and when I use the light the small numbers run together. I'll continue to use this one until I get frustrated enough to buy another model. The other problem with it is the band, I can barely get it around my wrist. But Timex has always been about watches not heart rate monitors.
